Showroom Sales Associate - Design Centre Chelsea Harbour, London

ROMO, a leading privately owned textile and wallcovering design house, is looking for an enthusiastic and confident Showroom Sales Associate to permanently join our flagship showroom based at the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour, London.

Family run since 1902, The Romo Group specialises in the supply of furnishing fabrics and wallcoverings to both the domestic and contract markets. The Showroom team are our first point of contact for Romo customers and provide excellent customer service through their knowledge and passion for our products. The successful candidate should be friendly, polite and approachable with preferably previous sales experience within the interiors industry.

Main responsibilities:

  • Assisting customers with their selection of products for use in interior schemes, taking an active approach to understand their needs and requirements
  • Being knowledgeable and familiar with products, being able to offer an effective and accurate answer to customer questions
  • Forming and maintaining relationships with clients
  • Support with the day to day running of the Showroom, ensuring it is well presented at all times
  • Preparing sample packs for customers
  • Working in collaboration with colleagues to manage and update the sample library on a daily basis
  • Supporting telephone and email enquires

Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent communication skills, with outstanding English language, written and spoken
  • A strong eye for colour and design
  • Be highly organised and able to prioritise
  • Good attention for detail
  • A proactive team worker with a flexible attitude and the ability to use ones initiative
  • A friendly and welcoming approach with outstanding customer service skills
  • IT competent with the ability to use Microsoft Office: Word & Excel

Web Developer - Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Web Developer to expand the small team responsible for the development and support of all internal and external web-related functions. This is a unique opportunity to take a leading role in the development and future direction of our corporate web sites.

Main responsibilities of the role include:

Writing website modules, to expand and enhance website functionality, this may include:

  • specifying requirements
  • some graphic design (Usually graphic design is provided, and the web team convert that that into working web code.)
  • ability to test (writing automated tests would be useful)
  • deploy code using git
  • enhancement, maintenance and bug-fixing of existing website modules
  • write code to interface with our internal systems/databases, through a variety of methods, including web API's and bash scripting
  • The web-team also maintain the email marketing database/system using OpenEMM, which is Java based.

Catering Supervisor - Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire

The Catering Supervisor will be responsible for the overall supervision of the catering department including: planning, organising and developing the food and beverage service to the business, ensuring compliance with food safety regulation, health and safety requirements, and customer expectations.

Main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Supervision of Catering Assistants to ensure food and beverages are produced to set standards and timeframes
  • To organise, lead and motivate the catering team
  • To be hands on in the day to day running of the operation
  • To ensure health and safety and food hygiene regulations are adhered to at all times including training and certification
  • Ensuring compliance with fire, licensing and employment regulations
  • To ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, its equipment and surrounding areas
  • To manage food and beverage provision on a daily basis to include functions and events
  • Plan menus in consultation with Catering Assistants and Managers
  • To manage and monitor catering expenditure

A family run business, now in its fifth generation, ROMO are developing the best in-house creative team and require an experienced Copywriter / Marketing Executive to join our growing marketing department based at our head office in Nottinghamshire. The role will initially be to cover maternity leave but has the potential of becoming a permanent position depending on the candidate, their skills and ability.

The role

As Group Copywriter you will develop captivating copy for a wide range of literature in order to promote our brands within the luxury interiors industry. Working across all six fabric and wallcovering brands you will work closely with our in-house design studios and creative marketing team to come up with original and compelling communication concepts. You will enable us to engage with our customers in a competitive global market in order to drive sales and raise the profile of our prestigious brands.

The ideal candidate

With an interest in textiles and design, you will have the ability to create impactful copy for our internationally renowned interiors brands, being able to uphold and develop each brand’s unique tone of voice. You will possess outstanding written communication skills and will demonstrate an innovative and proactive approach to developing marketing content for both printed and digital media. You will be working on various projects simultaneously, so will need to be highly organised and efficient in order to deliver to strict launch deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create compelling copy for a range of marketing material including brochures, press releases, customer letters, sales literature, presentations, internal employee publications, websites and e-marketing campaigns
  • Proof read and edit copy
  • Liaise with design studios to extract key information about new products and design concepts
  • Uphold and develop brand tone of voice
  • Create and publish engaging content for digital and social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest
  • Maintain and update brand websites

Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Textile Designer in a commercial setting.
  • A high achieving degree in Textile Design or similar qualification.
  • Be a dedicated, passionate and industrious designer with an aspirational taste level to meet the complexity of this role.
  • Good knowledge of all aspects of the commercial fabric printing and production process including digital, rotary and flat bed.
  • A strong knowledge and previous experience of CAD.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with all members of the design team and with other relevant departments.
  • Be flexible and practical with task management and with an ability to work under pressure and within time scales.
  • Exceptional organisation skills.
  • A sound understanding of Intellectual Property rights and all aspects of copyright related to design.


The successful candidate will help oversee and create exclusive designs that meet the ethos of the Black Edition brand and should display an affinity with and understanding of the brand.
