Are you a Textile Design Graduate or someone with interior textile design experience with a passion for contemporary design, looking for an opportunity to work for a market leading interior textile brand?
An exciting opportunity for a 6-month paid internship with the design house Kirkby Design is currently open. As Kirkby Design continues to grow into an influential brand by pushing the boundaries of contemporary textile design, we are seeking a passionate and organised graduate or person with relevant industry experience to join the studio on a full-time 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and busy design studio working alongside a team of designers on a variety of tasks.

Kirkby Design is a young and dynamic brand with a focus on sustainability, having its own in-house studio developing a mixture of unique, versatile, distinctive, and playful textiles. The successful applicant will work alongside the Design and Brand Manager and wider design team; the main responsibility will be assisting the design team in ensuring the smooth operation of the studio. There will also be opportunities to assist in creative processes where possible including design work, photo shoots and event/exhibition planning and visiting.
To be successful in this role, Kirkby Design are seeking proactive candidates who are highly creative and educated to a degree level with a 1st in Textile Design and/or relevant industry experience in textile design. Candidates will also need to demonstrate the ability to work well as part of a team, have flexibility with their work approach and demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities are:
· Assisting the design team in ensuring the efficient operation of the studio and providing general support
· Working in collaboration with the design team to assist in creative processes where possible including design work
· Assisting with photo shoots and event/exhibition planning
· Assisting with creative input/design work where possible
· Supporting the design team with trend and colour research
· Helping create mood boards and colour palettes
· Shadowing in mill sampling meetings for fabrics and wallcoverings
· General administrative support for the design studio and team, helping to prepare for meetings, photoshoots, exhibitions and events
· Supporting the day to day running of the design studio ensuring it is organised and tidy at all times
· Maintaining existing databases, folders and filing
· Supporting telephone and email enquiries for the design studio
· Needs to be able to draw and use Photoshop and Illustrator

Keep product merchandising up to date according to standardized company rotations.
Maintain a fresh and desirable showroom aesthetic with frequently updated product displays.
Manage our customer base and build key relationships within the local design community.
Increase our customer base through research and observation, including the use of social media to create new leads and become a prime designer resource.
Make a conscious effort to host and attend industry events.
Key To Success:
Ideally, a college degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience in either Design, fashion related sales, or prior industry sales experience.
Positive, energetic, can-do attitude.
Passionate about luxury products, interior design, architecture, and fashion.
Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills.
Excellent time management and follow up skills.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Artworker to join our team.
We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Junior Artworker to join our Graphics Team. Do you have a strong understanding of data-driven artwork and a passion for precision, consistency, and brand integrity? In this role you will support the team in delivering high-quality creative assets across a wide range of formats, ensuring all outputs meet brand standards and technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support the Graphics Team in designing and artworking patterning material, product labelling, marketing collateral, sales literature and digital presentations.
· Assist in the creation of internal brand decks and presentations.
· Work closely with the Senior Artworker to ensure all outputs align with brand strategy and standardisation documents.
· Confidently prepare artwork for print.
· Support in the operation of the in-house digital printer and ensure smooth operation.
· Use data merge techniques within Adobe InDesign to produce accurate, scalable artwork for product labelling and other templated materials.
· Ensure all data inputs are correctly formatted and integrated, maintaining consistency across large-scale outputs.
· Input translations for global markets, ensuring materials are ready for international use.
· Maintain high standards of accuracy and consistency across all artwork.
· Adhere strictly to brand guidelines and design systems.
· Conduct thorough checks to ensure all materials meet technical and visual standards before print.
· Work collaboratively with colleagues and internal stakeholders to gather feedback and implement changes.
· Respond swiftly to artwork requests and manage deadlines effectively.
· Communicate clearly and confidently across teams to ensure smooth workflow and delivery.
We are looking for:
· 1-2 years’ experience in a similar Artworker role.
· Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, especially InDesign.
· Strong understanding of data merge workflows and templated artwork production.
· Experience in the interiors industry is a bonus.
· Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
· Creative flair with a strong sense of design.
· Approachable, friendly, and confident communicator.
· Highly motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
· Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
