Catering Supervisor - Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and professional Catering Supervisor to join The Romo Group. The Catering Supervisor will be responsible for the overall supervision of the catering department including: planning, organising and developing the food and beverage service to the business, ensuring compliance with food safety regulation, health and safety requirements, and customer expectations.

Main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Supervision of Catering Assistants to ensure food and beverages are produced to set standards and timeframes
  • To organise, lead and motivate the catering team
  • To be hands on in the day to day running of the operation
  • To ensure health and safety and food hygiene regulations are adhered to at all times including training and certification
  • Ensuring compliance with fire, licensing and employment regulations
  • To ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, its equipment and surrounding areas
  • To manage food and beverage provision on a daily basis to include functions and events
  • Plan menus in consultation with Catering Assistants and Managers
  • To manage and monitor catering expenditure
  • To monitor the quality of the product and services provided, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • To maintain stock levels and order new supplies as required
  • Interacting with customers and supporting front of house work
  • Liaising with suppliers and clients
  • Planning and developing the catering department including equipment and services provided

Skills and experience required:

  • Food hygiene / Health & Safety qualification or certification
  • 3 years previous experience working within the catering industry
  • Customer facing experience
  • Excellent written & verbal communication
  • Numeracy and strong computer literacy (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel)
  • Experience of improving service delivery
  • Experience of producing hot and cold food to a high standard
  • Full clean driving licence

Facilities Manager - Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and professional Facilities Manager to join The Romo Group. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of central services ensuring the business meets safety, maintenance, and security standards.

Main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Coordinating and leading a maintenance team
  • Directing, coordinating and planning essential central services such as reception, security, fire alarms and systems, maintenance, building and grounds maintenance, plant machinery maintenance, mail distribution, archiving, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and recycling
  • Ensuring buildings meet health and safety requirements by proactively keeping up to date with all legislation ensuring compliance to all standards and laws
  • To manage the Health & Safety policy, procedures and risk assessments, ensuring action is taken to mitigate risks and corrective and preventative action is taken
  • To manage the fire alarm systems and fire risk assessments, ensuring action is taken to mitigate risks and corrective and preventative action is taken
  • Ensuring appropriate training and certification is in place to support health and safety, and when required designing and delivering training
  • Project management and supervising and coordinating the work of contractors
  • The hands on maintenance and repair of the building and services, plant machinery, and equipment. To ensure the implementation and ongoing compliance with all Health & Safety regulations are met

Skills and experience required:

  • NEBOSH Health & Safety qualification or equivalent
  • BIFM / ILM Facilities management qualification or equivalent
  • Excellent written & verbal communication
  • Numeracy and strong computer literacy (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel)
  • Ability to problem solve at an advanced level and make decisions confidently
  • Previous project management experience
  • Procurement and negotiation skills

ROMO requires an experienced Creative Copywriter / Marketing Executive to join our in-house marketing team based at our head office in Nottinghamshire. The role will initially be to cover maternity leave but has the potential of becoming a permanent position depending on the candidate, their skills and ability.

To be successful in this role, candidates will possess an exceptional talent for creative writing and demonstrate an innovative and proactive approach to developing marketing concepts in both printed and digital media. They must possess outstanding written and communication skills and show an interest in textiles and design.

Main Responsibilities:

Under the direction of our Creative Marketing Director and working closely with our in-house design studios and existing marketing team, you will be required to work on a wide variety of tasks for our 6 fabric and wallcovering brands, including:

  • Creative copywriting & proof reading of all marketing material including brochures, press releases, customer letters, sales literature, presentations, internal employee publications, websites & e-marketing campaigns
  • Managing social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest
  • Maintaining and updating brand websites
  • Working as part of the in-house creative marketing team to produce concept ideas for new marketing campaigns & promotional marketing material to compliment each fabric launch
  • Facilitate production of new marketing items through from concept stage to finished article

Skills & Experience:

  • Exceptional creative writing skills.

Main responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Creating original, unique designs for a variety of applications.

Applicants will need to demonstrate the following:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Textile Designer in a commercial setting.
  • A high achieving degree in Textile Design or similar qualification.
  • Be a dedicated, passionate and industrious designer with an aspirational taste level to meet the complexity of this role.
  • Good knowledge of all aspects of the commercial fabric printing and production process including digital, rotary and flat bed.
  • A strong knowledge and previous experience of CAD.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with all members of the design team and with other relevant departments.
  • Be flexible and practical with task management and with an ability to work under pressure and within time scales.
  • Exceptional organisation skills.
  • A sound understanding of Intellectual Property rights and all aspects of copyright related to design.


The successful candidate will help oversee and create exclusive designs that meet the ethos of the Black Edition brand and should display an affinity with and understanding of the brand. Working with the design team and working in collaboration with the Brand Director and other senior members, external suppliers, and internal departments to deliver quality fabrics and wallcoverings to be launched into the international market.
